Practicing Thankfulness

Happy Week 7 Bruins! This Wellness Wednesday we’re highlighting the invaluable exercise of practicing thankfulness. Although these times have been hard on most, there are still many things that we can be grateful for. Not that we ignore or diminish our sufferings, but on the contrary, enjoy and relish the good things that we have been graced with.


Studies have shown that practicing gratitude can shift attention away from toxic emotions, as it is harder to ruminate on them when proactively expressing/reflecting on the things we are thankful for (UC Berkeley).Research has also found strong positive correlation between practicing gratitude and physical wellness, such as improving the quality of one’s sleep and decreasing stress (American Psychological Association).


We hope that you will be able to take some time to unwind, destress, and appreciate what you are thankful for this week 🌷
